"All good things come to those who wait", was said to me by mum ALOT! I would not say I am the most patient person, but I am learning. We have been told that it is another three weeks of lock down to endure or enjoy depending on our circumstances and personalities-and probably age. For many in financial or domestic crisis, it must be so difficult to hear.  For those who love being at home, or who find social interactions difficult, it may be a relief, or make little difference.

I have been working with older people recently, and every person I have spoken to has said, "We just have to get on with it."   They are generally not happy about the situation, but accept that it has to be done. They have learned to wait, and that sometimes, some things take time.

Let me tell you about the avocado!!! I love them and everyone else in our house doesn't-so that's great for me. I just have to share this pic I saw the other day.

So I decided I would try and grow an avocado plant.  We looked  up how to go about it, and it is now sitting on the window sill in the kitchen, and I'm waiting...

The only problem is that it's going to take some time-six weeks to start to sprout, and ten to fifteen years to grow into a 'proper' plant!  I can wait-I think.  The great thing about gardening is that in the meantime, I can distract myself with other things-planting seeds, digging vegetable beds, cutting hedges/grass/flowers. I found a tree the other day-it was about six  feet high and had sneakily grown up right beside another tree and sort of 'merged' into it. I don't know if I have the heart to take it out or not, but it must have been quietly growing  away for years-I love that.  A Facebook friend wrote on their Facebook page,

"As I look out I’m enjoying new growth, as I look in I’m enjoying new growth - are you?"

So we are waiting with everyone else for restrictions to ease, and decide do we really want things to go back to how they were. In the meantime, let's quietly grow away and we'll see what we 'look like' on the other side....inside and out.
